Badminton NSW Paralympics Synergies with Korean Paralympic Committees

Badminton NSW was honoured to host the Korean 17 member delegation visit on 2 November at the Roketto Badminton CentreBadminton NSW President Carolyn Toh welcomed Chairman Kim Byung Woo and the 17 member Korean delegation at the Roketto Badminton Centre.

Korean Paralympic Committee and their 16 Korean Disability associations participated in this NSW community visit with 2 major themes:

  • Overseas Study Visit on Community Sports for People with Disabilities
  • Korean Excellent Barrier-Free Sports Centres Managers Tour

After a Questions and Answers session chaired by Carolyn, our para athletes demonstrated their usual training program and matches.

This intensified sports diplomacy facilitates expansion of future athlete and coach exchanges to broaden the foundation of para-badminton. Arika Shetty had been to Korea previously and (had met couple of the delegates) shared her positive experience which the Koreans appreciated.
