2008 NSW Junior Open & Veterans Team Event Feb 16 & 17, 2008 Invitation

Please note that all registrations have to be accompanied by payment before the tournament starts on that weekend if entries emailed or faxed. Refunds will be permissible under mitigating circumstances given to be considered by the Tournament Committee. Thank you for your support and cooperation to streamline the tournament processes for a successful event.

Search for National Champions

Please see attached the 2008 NSW Elite Junior Squad selection criteria. Applications must be accompanied by a copy of the athlete's results over the last 12 months along with a statement of their goal(s) and date of birth. Applications close 14th December 2007.

At the same time, we are calling for coaches/feeders to be part of the squad on a regular basis. This position requires the applicant to be fully committed to the objectives and goals set out for the squad. Applications for this position can also be emailed to the coordinator. Services rendered are expected to be voluntary, however, a small remuneration may be negotiated.

NSW Badminton Association Annual General Meeting

The 2007 AGM of Badminton NSW will be held at 7.30pm on Friday 14th December at the meeting room of the Hornsby PCYC, 94 George Street , Hornsby.

Nominations are welcome for all positions and should be sent to The Secretary, P.O.Box 717 , Willoughby NSW 2068 by Friday 16th November 2007.

2008 U17 Team Coach

New South Wales Badminton Association is seeking expressions of interest for coaches who will look after the on court preparation prior to and during the 2008 June Bevan and Under 17 Australasian Championships. Two positions are available. Position Description is attached.

Dates: Travel on or around 21st March - 30th March 2008.

Invitation for the Under 13 Interstate Series Championships

The Under 13 NSW representative teams will be selected to participate in the 2008 Under 13 Interstate Series Championships to be held in Altona, Victoria during the weekend of 25th – 26th January 2008.

To qualify, a player must be a NSW resident, under 13 years of age by the 31st Dec 2007 (born on the 1st Jan 1995 or thereafter), be a member of NSWBA (or its afilliated associations), and be willing to play for NSW. It is mandatory that player’s proof of age documentation be sighted.

Players are also required to attend training during the summer holidays and at least one parent must accompany the player to the tournament in Victoria.

This announcement also serves as a call for any volunteers for Team Manager, Coach or Umpire positions. Any interested players and volunteers should contact this year's U13 coordinator Stanley Chien (E-mail: stanley.chien@reach.com, Mobile: 0438-821-047) or Philip Wong (E-mail: kw666984@bigpond.net.au, Mobile: 0423-829-150) to register.

Registration closes on Sunday 14 October 2007. Players must make themselves available for the team selection as detailed below:

We are ready for another Seniors Team Tournament. Please note that entries should be in as soon as possible as we are only having 8 courts at the venue in Tempe. This tournament will be good practise for anyone going to Adelaide for the Australian Masters or going to Albury for the regular annual event. Download the entry form here.
