Badminton Australia are running the first BWF level 1 Coaching Course in partnership with Badminton NSW over two weekends in March and May at Sydney Olympic Park. We are collecting expressions of interest for people who would like to attend the course.
About the course:
The BWF level 1 course and accreditation is the first step on the performance pathway. The performance pathway is for those coaches who want to work with developing players, through the talent, excellence and mastery levels. The BWF courses are recognised in all countries where the national association is a member of the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The course will be led by Robbie Thackham of Badminton Oceania.
The course takes places over Saturday and Sunday over two weekends on March 17/18 and May 19/10. You must attend both full weekends, complete coach education work between each weekend and meet the assessed standard, as well as successfully pass the prerequisite online coach education courses from the Australian Sports Commission, in order to successfully meet the BWF level 1 criteria.
The NSW course will take place at Australia Badminton Developing Centre, 8 Figtree Drive, Sydney Olympic Park NSW.
To pass you must:
- Attend both full weekends.
- Complete coach education work between each weekend.
- Meet the assessed standard.
- Successfully pass the prerequisite online coach education courses from the Australian Sports Commission
The cost will be $250 per coach. This will be due in full before the commencement of the course.
